To that end, we’ve tested and combined many features and essentials to achieve what we set out to do. With our new UV Cut filters, 99.2% of light is transmitted while offering users peace of mind by adding an outer layer of glass for protection—while never compromises on image quality.
To achieve superior 99.2% light transmission, Simmod uses highly-polished Schott glass, multi-coating, and additional advanced elements that improve the filter’s light transmission. A scratch-resistant coating minimizes scratching of the glass and helps assure that water, oil, dust, and fingerprints are removed with a gentle wipe. The durable brass filter ring is designed to screw on and off effortlessly, and it’s thin to prevent vignetting when used with wide-angle lenses.
99.2% Light Transmission
Protecting your lens doesn't mean you have to lose optical quality—especially when shooting on modern and vintage lenses. By using highly-polished Schott glass and advanced coatings, Simmod can offer a 99.2% transmission rate, which is the highest possible transmission rate for glass. Simmod glass that's polished to perfection is essential to achieve a high level of light transmission. The Schott glass in this Simmod filter is highly-polished for flatness that ensures superior optical clarity.
Resistance Coating
The layers of advanced resistance coating on the filter are designed to resist moderate scratches, and allow you to easily clean your filter. Simmod UV Cut filters contain 7 layers of nano-coating on each side. That’s a combined total of 14 layers of nano-coating. Water beads up and rolls off your filter, and oil and fingerprints can come off with a gentle wipe. Dust and debris won't adhere to the filter and can be removed with a puff of air.
Multi-Coating
Simmod UV Cut Filters are layered with Multi-Coating to enhance light transmission to the demanding level set for all Simmod filters. Simmod filters are multi-coated with 16 layers of coating on each side. That’s a combined total of 32 layers of protective and enhancement coating. Multi-Coating reduces unwanted internal reflections and ghosting that can compromise your images.
UV Protection
The filter blocks UV light and reduces the bluish cast of daylight which can affect color accuracy, especially at higher altitudes.
Brass Construction
The durable brass filter ring offers a substantial, premium feel. The unique properties of brass minimize the chance of jamming or binding when you're screwing the filter onto your lens or stacking filters.
Slim Design
Measuring only 3.2mm, this filter is slim enough to use on wide-angle lenses without experiencing vignetting.
Secure Attachment
It takes two full turns to mount the filter on your lens. This feature will securely hold your Simmod filter through the most demanding shoots.
Front Threads
The front threads on the filter allow you to stack filters by screwing them onto your Simmod filter.
