Simmod Rubber Front Lens Cap - 80mm/85mm/95mm/114mm O.D.

Price

$15.00

Front-mounted cine lenses require protection when not in use. This cap provides a direct mechanical solution for that purpose.

The Simmod Rubber Front Lens Cap is a slip-on protective cap designed for lenses that have been standardized outside diameter: 80mm/85mm/95mm/114mm O.D.

Function

  • Protects the front element of the lens when not in use
  • Shields against dust, debris, and minor contact
  • Designed for use during transport and storage (B&H Photo Video)

Fitment

  • Compatible with lenses that measure 80mm/85mm/95mm or 114mm O.D.outer diameter at the front
  • Designed to work with cine-modified lenses using front rings or standardized fronts
  • Installs via friction-based slip-on fit

The cap does not rely on internal filter threads. Fitment is based entirely on the external diameter of the lens.

Construction

  • Manufactured from flexible rubber material
  • Black finish
  • Designed to maintain elasticity for repeated installation and removal

Injection-molded construction allows the cap to conform slightly to the lens surface, creating a secure hold without additional locking mechanisms.

Mechanical Characteristics

  • Slip-on design provides quick installation and removal
  • No threads, clips, or hinges
  • Maintains contact around the outer circumference of the lens

Compatibility Context

This cap is intended for lenses that have been modified or built to a cine-standard outer diameter, commonly achieved through:

  • Front cine rings
  • Integrated cine housings

Notes

  • Not compatible with lenses that use internal filter thread sizing only
  • Fitment depends on accurate outer diameter measurement
  • Does not provide environmental sealing

A simple protective component designed for lenses with an 80mm/85mm/95mm/114mm O.D., providing coverage of the front element through a slip-on rubber interface.
