Simmod Aluminum Front Lens Cap

Price

$60.00

Front-mounted cine lenses require a rigid protective interface when not in use.

This cap provides a fixed, mechanical solution.

The Simmod Aluminum Front Lens Cap is a slip-on protective cap designed for lenses with a standardized 80/85/95/114mm outside diameter, commonly found on cine-modded lenses and front ring systems.

Function

  • Protects the front element of the lens during storage and transport
  • Shields against dust, debris, and minor impact
  • Designed for repeated installation and removal

Fitment

  • Compatible with lenses measuring 80/85/95/114mm outside diameter outer diameter at the front
  • Designed for cine-standard fronts rather than internal filter threads
  • Installs via slip-on friction fit

Fit is achieved through contact with the external diameter of the lens, not threaded engagement.

Construction

  • Manufactured from anodized aluminum
  • Exterior features a CNC-machined knurled edge for grip
  • Interior includes a protective grip lining to maintain retention

The rigid aluminum structure provides increased durability compared to flexible rubber caps.

Mechanical Characteristics

  • Slip-on design allows quick installation and removal
  • Knurled edge provides manual grip during handling
  • Inner lining creates friction-based retention without locking mechanisms

System Context

This cap is intended for lenses that have been standardized to a cine outer diameter, typically through:

  • Front cine rings
  • Integrated cine housings

Notes

  • Not compatible with lenses that rely solely on internal filter thread sizing
  • Fitment depends on accurate external diameter measurement
  • Does not provide environmental sealing

A rigid aluminum cap designed for 80/85/95/ or 114mm outer diameter lens fronts, providing mechanical protection through a slip-on interface.
